iReady Assessments

Students will take their math iReady Assessment Monday, March 24. They will take their reading iReady assessment Wednesday, April 10. Please make sure your child arrives at school on time. Your child should also be well rested and have a nutritious breakfast. 

Field Trip to Oatland Island

Our field trip to Oatland Island has been rescheduled to this Wednesday, March 27. Permission slips were sent home last week. If you haven't done so, please sign and return the form as soon as possible. Please apply sunscreen and bug spray at home. Students should wear long pants, walking shoes, and hats. We will be eating lunch at Oatland Island.

We were so disappointed that our field trip to Oatland Island Wildlife Center did not happen. Although the bus was ordered, there was no bus was available for us to use that day. We are trying to reschedule and we'll let you know if there are any updates.

Field Trip

We will be going to Oatland Island this Thursday! Bug spray and sunscreen should be applied at home. Students should wear closed toe walking shoes.

Game Day

After our field trip this Thursday, we will have game day in the classroom. Children can bring in their favorite game to share with the community.

We will have Taco Tuesday this week! Children can bring in or purchase their usual lunch and we will have walking tacos as an afternoon snack. If you are able to donate a food item for Taco Tuesday please click this link to sign up. Send in your items Monday or Tuesday. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your support! Blue Jays and Cardinals were the top 2 teams to raise money for our school fundraiser! Our community won all of the prizes on our pledge-o-meter! Last week, students had crazy hair/hat day, crazy socks day, stuffies and an afternoon read-in, capture the flag, and extra recess. This week, our class will have TACO TUESDAY and popcorn and a movie on Friday. Next Thursday, March 14, we will have board game day after our field trip.

E-Learning and President's Day

Students will have an e-learning 1/2 day this Friday. They will also have off next Monday.

Valentines Day is this Wednesday. We will have a valentine exchange on that day. If possible, please have your child bring a valentine for each classmate. We have 50 students and the roster is pictured below. Children will decorate bags to hold their valentines in the classroom. We have enough bags for the community. If you have valentine craft supplies to donate, please send them in ASAP. 

Carnation Sale

This Valentine's Day, show your student, teacher, or an Ellis staff member some love by sending them a carnation with a personal message from you.

Carnations can be purchased through your student's School Cash Online account or through Coach Lesley during arrival at the 48th St. gate.

The deadline to order is February 12th.
