BOGO Book Fair
Please check out the BOGO Book Fair this week in the Media Center. Open late on Thursday evening!

Field Trip Forms
We sent home field trip forms for Musical Explorers and Field Day last week. Please complete and return them as soon as possible. There is no money due for either of these field trips. 

Field Day
Information regarding Field Day on Friday, May 4 went home last week. If you have a tent that you are willing to set up to provide shade for students please contact us via email. Thank you!

Tea With Mom
Moms and Mother Figures are invited to join us for Tea with Mom on Monday, May 14. Please drop by between 8 and 9 am to enjoy tea with your child. Follow the link below to sign up to send in an ingredient for the occasion. Send in all items by Monday, May 7. Thank you!

Spring Conferences

MAP Test
MAP testing will begin this week. Students will take the MAP tests for the third and final time this school year. All students, except first grade students who previously met the benchmark, will be taking the tests. Students are scheduled to take Math MAP on Wednesday, April 25 and Reading MAP on Wednesday, May 2. 

Skill Practice
All students should be using KHAN MAPPERS for child-specific targeted practice that links directly to MAP-Mathematics test scores. It is a valuable resource for all students, especially for students who need MAP and GMAS practice. Please continue to use MobyMax, TenMarks, and Xtra Math to practice skills at home when possible.

Field Trip Forms

Paper Towel Tubes
Thank you for sending in paper towel tubes! We have received more than enough and are no longer in need. Thank you!

PTA General Membership Meeting
There will be a PTA general membership meeting at Grayson Stadium at 5:30 on Tuesday, April 17. Dark Shark Tacos will be there for purchase and you'll be able to sign your kids up for local summer camps!

GMAS 
3rd grade students will continue to take the state mandated GMAS test April 16 & 17. Please make sure your student gets plenty of rest, eats a good breakfast, and makes it to school on time. If your student is not at school when the test begins they will have to make it up at a later time. 5th & 8th grade students will take Science and Social Studies GMAS tests on Wednesday and Thursday. Makeups will take place on Friday. Parents are not allowed in the building during testing. Thank you for working with us.

Field Day T-Shirts
Field Day T-shirt orders are due on Monday. We are wearing NEON BLUE shirts this year. If your child wants a shirt but you don't have the funds please let us know and we can arrange to get one for your student.


Zoe's Kitchen Spirit Night
Please join us at Zoe's Kitchen on *Wednesday. There will be an Erdkinder Art show and a portion of the proceeds will go towards the PTA.

Reading Logs
April reading logs will go home on Monday, April 2nd. Please make sure your child is reading nightly and recording it on the reading log provided.

Field Day T-Shirts
Order forms for Field Day T-shirts went home with students before the break. We are wearing NEON BLUE shirts this year. Please turn in order forms and money as soon as possible!


GMAS Prep
All 3rd grade students should turn in GMAS prep packets on Monday, April 2nd. They will be using these packets to practice typing on the computer this week. 


GMAS Practice 
All 3rd grade students will be logging in to the GMAS platform this week to practice taking the test on the computer. They will be able to use the features that are available during testing.

Math Night-3/22/18 6pm
Math Night is March 22, at 6:00, in the media center.  This is being hosted by our business partner, Mathnasium.  There will be a raffle for parents and volunteers and one lucky student will win an Amazon Fire Tablet!  We hope you'll join us for this fun family event.

Spring Pictures
Spring pictures will be taken on Monday, March 12. It is a free dress-up day for all.  

Spirit Night and Erdkinder Art Show
Please join us at 5pm on March 13 for Charles Ellis Spirit Night and Erdkinder Art Show at Zoe's Kitchen.

KISS A PIG
There will be St. Patrick's Day items for sale all week in the multipurpose room. This sale leads up to events on Friday including a $1 dressdown for students. **Our Students will not be able to dressdown!** We must wear uniforms because we have a field trip planned for that day.

Charles Ellis Family Cookbook
Information about the Ellis Family Cookbook went home on Friday. We are hoping to have the cookbook complete and ready for purchase around Mother's Day. All of the proceeds from sales of the cookbook will go towards teacher training. Thank you for your support!

Breakfast with Dad 
Students and family members had a wonderful time at breakfast on Thursday. Thanks to all who donated and came in to make this event such a special occasion! Please enjoy the pictures of some of your students preparing muffins on Wednesday.

If your child will have school lunch on March 16, please reply to our email, so we can get an accurate headcount for the cafeteria. They need this information in advance so they can pack bag lunches for the students who need them.
