Friendship Stew

Second Harvest Field Trip

We will be headed out to the Second Harvest Food Bank on Wednesday to learn more about the program and help pack food for local friends who are suffering with food insecurity. Please follow this link for more information.

Our community has decided to "adopt" a child from the Angel Tree in the front hallway. The purpose of the tree is to make sure that less fortunate children in the Ellis community receive some clothing and a toy this holiday season. If your family is able to donate money, we would love to have your support with this project. If your child has their own money, bringing in a couple dollars from their own stash might just make this charitable act even more heartfelt. 

We will be collecting funds until Friday, December 1, so that we can purchase items from the community that weekend. Gifts are due December 5, so students will have time to wrap them on Monday and Tuesday of that week.

E-Learning and Veterans Day

The students will be off Tuesday for another e-Learning Day. We will send homework on Monday. Everyone will be off Friday in celebration of Veterans Day!

Día de los Muertos Ofrenda

Thank you for participating in this wonderful celebration! The children really enjoyed learning about this tradition and the altar in our classroom became a beautiful tribute to our ancestors.

Fall Conferences

We will end our first round of fall conferences this week. A second sign up will go out this week via email. If you were unable to meet with us during the first round, you can sign up using the link provided.

 Field Trips

The students and residents of Buckingham South had a wonderful time together last Thursday! Research has shown that children and seniors benefit mentally and physically from interacting with each other. We ended the trip with a picnic lunch in the Ellis Peace Garden.

Field Trips

A packet of field trip forms went home with students. Most of them have been signed and returned! If you haven't done that yet, please do it as soon as possible. 2nd graders have a district reading pep rally on Tuesday and the whole community will be headed to Buckingham South retirement home to sing for the residents on Thursday. The children took home song sheets on Friday and should practice singing at home.

Water Bottles

We do not have drinking fountains that students can use at school. We only have bottle refilling stations. Please send in a water bottle with your child so they can drink water throughout the day.

Fall Conferences

We have enjoyed meeting and discussing classroom observations, academics, and grace and courtesy with families. If you have scheduled a conference, please make sure that you remember to attend! Tuesday conferences can be virtual or in person, please note your preference on the chart, and a link was sent out to those who prefer Zoom.
