The Week of September 25th

  The Blue Jays Weekly Newsletter

The children sang beautifully for our peace celebration on Wednesday. As is Ellis tradition, we observed International Peace Day on September 21 with a school-wide singing of "Light a Candle for Peace." Click here to view the video.

BOOK IT! Reading Program
The 2022-2023 BOOK IT! reading program will begin October 1st for all interested Pre-K through 6th grade students. Visit the BOOK IT! page of the Ellis website for more information including how to sign your student(s) up to participate. If you have any questions, please let Ms. Lisa know. lisa.odonnell@sccpss.com
Happy reading!

Asia

Children continued their study of the biomes, animals, and people of Asia. If your family has artifacts from the continent of Asia, that you would like to share with our community, please send them in with your child. You can send an email or Remind message with details about the objects to help us understand their significance.

School Photo Packets

School Photos-Due this Friday!

  • Photo sales are a fundraiser for our school!
  • All the information you need is in the photo packet.
  • You should pay for the pictures that you want to keep and/or RETURN the rest of the packet, if anything is left.
  • Families may purchase the photos online at strawbridge.net using the code found on the price flyer in your student's photo packet OR you may send cash or check (made payable to Strawbridge) to school with your child in the envelope provided.

The deadline to order/return photos is this Friday, September 30th.

Calling all volunteers!

Do you have special talents that you would like to share with our community? Do you sew, knit, paint, draw, cook, write, do woodworking, garden...? Or, would you like to come in regularly to read with children and work on Fry words? Please send us an email, because we would love to have your help! As soon as we are given district approval, we would love to have volunteers in the classroom. Any parent or family member that intends to volunteer needs to register with the district.  Please click this link and apply to become a volunteer on Operation Beacon. If you want to volunteer, in any capacity, you will have to do this. Thank you!
