The Blue Jays Weekly Newsletter
The children have been brainstorming classroom expectations and creating jobs for themselves in the school environment. It's lovely to see the children taking ownership of the classroom.
iReady Testing
This coming week we will be completing i-ready testing on Wednesday and Friday. Please make sure that your child gets plenty of rest the night before testing day and a big healthy breakfast on the morning of testing days
PTA
Please join us for our first PTA meeting on Thursday, August 25. You can be involved as little or as much as you'd like but we encourage your attendance at the monthly meetings. The Ellis class with the most parent memberships will receive an ice cream party to celebrate! Please join PTA!
The classrooms can be cool at times. It is a great idea to send a sweater or sweatshirt, labeled your child's on the tag, in their bookbag. According to administration, students will not be allowed to wear hoodies in school.
Please be sure to login to PowerSchool and sign your student's technology permission slip. You may also want to purchase a protection plan. It is highly recommended that the computers remain at school where they can remain fully charged and ready for use each day at school.
This year, the children will be traveling to explorations on Tuesday mornings. Be sure to send your child to school in shoes that will work well for them in P.E. For those new to the school, the children have art, music, PE, Spanish, Technology, and Engineering with the exploration teachers in one morning each week.
