Weekly Newsletter
The Week of November 27th

Reading Logs
December reading logs will go home this week. November reading logs are due Friday. Please make sure your student is reading and recording nightly!

Classroom Snack-In the New Year
We hope you have found the new system for classroom snack to be helpful for you and your family by cutting down time spent rushing around for snack for the class on your assigned week, and also hoping you have found it to be more economical. We have seen an enormous amount of positive growth that this seemingly small change made. We are seeing that students are enthusiastic to eat their fruit and vegetable snacks without hesitation and we have seen their confidence soar because of their additional opportunities in practical life activities such as preparing the food, and also washing their dishes when they are through.

All of that being said, when we began this journey at the beginning of the school year, we were not certain what type of budget we needed to set, so we set a conservative budget of $20 per student for the year. We are seeing now that we need to request an additional $20 per student to make it through the school year. That ends up working out to $1.11 per student for 36 weeks of school, at $40 per student per year. We prefer Kroger gift cards as they tend to have the most economical organic options. If Publix is your store, of course we will accept those as well. We found that grocery store gift cards are the easiest for us to deal with, rather than worrying about cash.

Please send in gift cards by January 15. We thank you for your support in this endeavour. We also hope that you are seeing and feeling the benefits as much as we are as a community.

We appreciate everything you all do for our community!
